Veterans Students Lead Flag Salute

 

Veterans Elementary Student Body President- Phoebe Nguyen, Vice President- Tyler Silva, Secretary- Olivia Golleher, Commissioner of Buildings and Grounds- Logan Reynish, Commisioner of Safety- Oshin Singh and Commissioner of Athletics- Collin Kitts, are pictured prior to leading the Flag Salute at the April Board of Trustees meeting.  Prinicpal, Rusti Sullivan, introduced the students who then introduced their family members present.  The students also shared several activities Student Government had been involved in including sending a World War II veteran to Washington, D.C. on an Honor Flight.

Thank you to our Veterans Elementary ASB officers for taking the time to represent their school at the Board meeting and for their leadership on their campus.

Olive Drive Students Lead Flag Salute

Olive Drive Elementary students, Michael Edmonston, Dawson Hoff, Keith Lephart, Brandon Petty & Justin Vecere, waiting to lead the Flag Salute at the March Board of Trustees meeting.  Mrs. Limpias, Olive Drive Principal, introduced the students who then introduced their relatives in attendance.  Prior to the flag salute the boys performed their Oral Language Verse Choir piece entitled, “Being Frank“, which won third place at the County Oral Language Festival. Mrs. Carey Rodriguez, Olive Drive 5th grade teacher and the student’s coach, was also in attendance.

 

Congratulations to Michael, Dawson, Keith, Brandon and Justin for their 3rd place achievement.  Also, thank you to the boys for taking the time to represent their school at the Board meeting.

Bimat Students Lead Flag Salute

William B. Bimat Elementary students, Kaleigh Ray and Kailynn Shehee, lead the Flag Salute at the February Board of Trustees meeting.  Mrs. Bryant, Bimat Principal, introduced the students who then introduced their parents.  Prior to the flag salute the girls performed their Serious Duo piece entitled “I Have a Dream”.  It was a very moving presentation.  Kaleigh and Kailynn placed 1st at the Norris School District competition and 2nd at the Kern County Oral Language Festival.  Mrs. Jenny Durkan, Bimat Oral Language Coordinator and 6th grade teacher, was also in attendance.

Thank you to Kaleigh and Kailynn for their hard work and for taking the time to represent their school at the Board meeting.
